You Cannot Change the World

It is true you cannot change the world. That may surprise you as you try to spread the Gospel to the world but the true reason you can’t change the world is you are not of this world*. However it is our job to spread the message of the Gospel to the people who live in the world so they can be brought out of the world and into the Kingdom of God.

This world hates* you, it despises you because this world is evil and is filled with injustice.

But God is good, He is just and He will create a new Heaven and a new Earth**.

Also remember you cannot change a person’s heart, it is up to them and God. Pray first, trust the Holy Spirit to guide you on how to present the Gospel to the individual person or group you’re speaking too.

God is infinite as is His wisdom. There is so much in the Word of God. Someone might be craving a message of justice, a message of family, a message of hope, or just plain love. Only God knows what message they need to hear so let Him guide you on how to present the Gospel in that moment.

It is very important to know scripture and know God because if you don’t your message of the Gospel may become twisted to fit the world. We must stick to the Truth and remember to let the Holy Spirit guide you on how you present the real Gospel.

Remember we are the light of the world***, even if we aren’t of this evil world we still are the light that is on it for now. While our light still shines on the Earth remember to shine it to those in need.

Present to those you are reaching out to, Christ in all His wonder, present Him as the True King, the One who will take back the Earth and make all things new.

Have a Blessed Week,
Chris

Scripture:
*John 15:19 New King James Version (NKJV)

19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

**Revelation 21: 1-7 New King James Version (NKJV)

**All Things Made New

21 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, [a]John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said [b]to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

6 And He said to me, “It[c] is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes [d]shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, [e]unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

***Matthew 5:14-16 New King James Version (NKJV)

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Always Jesus

There are many debates about what is the “truth” and the “way”. Many ask what is truth? As if truth is subjective. We as Christians believe Jesus to be the truth and the way.

How can we know this?

The answer is simple.

It’s always Jesus.

Jesus is talked about not just by us Christians but also all over the world. He is a hot topic in different religions, political groups and secular groups.

He is talked about everywhere.

We Christians believe in Him as our savior, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords. Just saying His name has brought healing into our minds, bodies and souls. He is our everything, our God.

In Islam they believe Him to just be a prophet, they hold him in high regard but do not believe that He is the son of God, one of Three in the Trinity. This is so important to Muslims that on the Dome of the Rock it points out God is one, implying that He has no son. He is that important to them. I do want to point out Muslims are important to God as well.

One of my favorite types of video to watch is of former Muslims discussing their conversions to Christianity. Many had Jesus appear to them. God wants them saved as much as anyone else. That is why it is important to spread the Word to those of different religions.

Jesus also is important to the Jewish people. Many are still out to prove Jesus to not be their Messiah. Jesus has been a topic that as angered many Jews since He walked the Earth. The good news is there is a Messianic Jewish Movement going on right now, praise God for that. Many are coming to believe in Yeshua/Jesus as their Messiah. One of the common things I hear is Jewish people would be open to other religions as long as it had nothing to do with Jesus. “Anything but Jesus”, was a quote I’ve heard.

Again we see the emphasis on Jesus. It’s always Jesus.

Even Gandhi wrote a letter about Jesus. He called Jesus one of the “greatest teachers in the history of mankind”. Sadly he rejected Christianity but Jesus did appear to make an impact on Gandhi.

Even in secular circles it’s always Jesus. Jesus is mocked, ridiculed and scoffed at in conversation, movies, shows and demonstrations more than any other religious figure.

It’s always Jesus.

Religions, political parties, media outlets, entertainment, both domestic and abroad. Jesus is the hottest topic.

Why?

Because He is.

Revelation 22: 12-13, “12“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to what he has done. 13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

He is the First and the Last.

He is Always.

Have a blessed week,
Chris

Part II (His Way Church)

That’s when the urge started again to find a church. I would pray asking for guidance for two things, to find a church that would focus on Christ’s teaching and for myself to learn how to do works not just have faith. I had three bible verses that were on my mind. When James said faith without works is dead, when Jesus said to remove the plank from your eye before you worry about the spec in your brother’s eye and when Jesus confronted the men about to stone the adulterous woman he said, he who is without sin cast first stone. These three were very powerful to me.

Now Jane and I still talked about how we missed our old church. Then one day on the way home, we saw an advertisement for an Easter egg hunt and the address was the same as our old church. We couldn’t believe it, but were still hesitant.

After praying the same prayer about finding a church, I felt a pull to try the church. I thought that it would be easy but it was a little harder than I thought. First the website didn’t work, than the phone number was out of service, I found a new number but no one picked up the phone. Jane told me maybe this is God’s way of telling us this isn’t the church for us. But the tug for this church was so strong, finally I decided to just go over there on a Sunday morning. On that Sunday, we over slept, I had stomach trouble and we didn’t arrive until 11:30. Jane says “The service is probably over, I am too embarrassed to go inside.”

I told her that we had gotten up, rushed to get ready, we can at least go inside. I got out of the car and two friendly people welcomed us inside, as it turned out the service started at exactly 11:30. When we sit down, we are immediately welcomed but informed the pastor is on vacation. The service was still very nice, Jane liked it to, and it was nice being back in the old building. We decided to give the church another try.

Just like the previous week we were immediately greeted and everyone was excited for us to be there. I sat down and Pastor Howard began to preach. The sermon was about the circle of faith, works and love. He mentioned all three verses that I had prayed about before. I felt at home and at peace being there. Afterwards Pastor Howard and I talked I told him about what I had been praying about the night before, he told me that the sermon he delivered was not the one he worked on most the week but last night God gave him that message to preach. He also asked if ever wanted to get involved in a church he would find an opening for me.

Everything I had been praying about had been covered in the sermon, we felt at home the moment we walked in. It was all coming together. Than something happened I will never forget.
