The Importance of Rest III

I have written twice and re-blogged once about the Importance of Rest.

I am writing about this subject again because quite frankly I am exhausted.

Some may point out to me that I have taken on too much lately but the truth is that is not the case. I have neglected my rest.

I have gone to bed far too late far too many times.

Then when I could sleep in or nap I chose to fight of the fatigue in order to stay awake to do other things. Often leisure and fun activities.

In the moment I always think I am just sacrificing rest to do what I need or want to do but the truth is what I am doing is wrong because God tells us to rest.

I need to repent of allowing myself to neglect my rest.

Also my Pastor preaches on rest and has talked to me personally about the importance of rest.

Really there is no excuse for me to continue to fail to get proper sleep.

So in conclusion I leave you with these 12 Bible Verses on rest.

The Common Denominator is people

Three years later and this post seems way more relevant today than it did in 2019.

The Good Word

Most everyone has a bogeyman or men that they blame all their problems or the problems of the world on. Sometimes its one particular person in their life, or a world leader. Sometimes it is a group of people based on their political beliefs, religious beliefs, race, gender or any other difference.

They say all the trouble and problems in their life or the world would be solved if only that person or group of people would change or be gone.

Well turn on the news, you will hear stories of people killing others, robbing others, hurting others, attempting to destroy all that is good. These people are from all different races, religions and backgrounds. Men, women, sometimes even children.

What’s the common denominator here? It’s people.

People are the ones who do the evil, evil does not discriminate, it does not chose race, gender, political affiliation or even the…

God Delight’s In You

That’s right you read the title of my blog right. God does in fact delight in you. I know sometimes it’s hard to imagine or comprehend but He does.

This post has been inspired by a video I watched from Steven Bancarz about this very subject.

I actually planned on writing with a much more serious tone this week on an entirely different subject but God had different plans. I want you to watch this video, I know its 30 minutes but it is worth it.

It’s incredible when you think about it, truly it is. It’s message I needed to hear right now going into this week.

Here is a link to some Bible verses that helped me today.

Yes God Wants You In Church

Throwback Thursday Post from just last year but I decided to share it because of the importance of the topic.

In just a year I have gotten heavily involved in my church and it really has been a huge blessing.

Also here is a video to add to the blog entry.

The Good Word

I see a lot of people point out reasons they don’t go to church and criticize the problems at churches. They say things like, “The Church isn’t a building, I am the church.”

While there is truth to that the Bible is clear God wants us to go to an actual church building. Because He wants us to have fellowship for the benefit of ourselves and those around us.

Churches also provide services to the community, they feed the hungry, clothe those who are without, provide financial support to people in need, not to mention many, many other things.

There is a huge benefit to churches in the world.

Satan is the accuser, he is the one putting these thoughts of the negative sides of some churches in your heads.

He wants you weakened, he wants the church weakened because he knows he has no power over a church truly…

It Always Comes Back to Jesus

Throwback Thursday Post From July 2020

The Good Word

In the three faiths of Abraham there is one major difference and that is Jesus.

The Jews reject Jesus as their Messiah.

The Muslims reject Jesus as the Son of God.

We Christians believe Jesus to be who He says He is.

That’s the difference.

We believe Him. We do not reject what He said like many Jews do. We don’t believe the words of men from hundreds of years after Jesus left the Earth and returned to the Father.

We believe Jesus Himself and the writings of those who knew Him.

He is the Son of God because He says He is.

He is God because He says He is.

Before Abraham Was, I Am

“48 The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?” 49 Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father, and…

Something Simple But Serious To Think About

Many people make their Christianity a part of who they’re it is one of their personality traits, something they label themselves as.

This is the incorrect way of Christian life. Your Christianity at that point becomes just another thing about you and not about God and how He molds you.

The correct way of Christian life is that every part of you reflects your Christianity, your personality traits, character traits, what you do and who you’re is because of your Christian faith.

Let everything about you be the way that is because you’re a Christian.

Have a Blessed Week,
Chris

New Year, New Life with God

Throwback Thursday New Year’s Post from 2019

The Good Word

Happy New Year everyone!

It is a New Year that means for many it’s a new opportunity to change their lives. We hype this time of the year up as if it is magical but in reality many fail in their resolutions. I stopped doing New Year’s resolutions as I always failed them and it made the New Year very stressful. They’re just not for me, if they are for you then great, I wish you luck and I’ll be praying for you.

Many may mock you but it is because they’re stuck in their ways and wish they could change.

The truth is though, you all out there can be successful in change, even the ones that scoff and mock. Just because you failed in the past doesn’t mean you will fail today.

The best first step is to go to God.

With God He can make all things…
