Thanksgiving

The Good Word

It’s Thanksgiving time, a perfect time to reflect and be thankful for what God has given us, family, love, finances, forgiveness, salvation, so many things.

Take the time and think about it and pretty much everything you have can be credited to the Lord.

The blessings from God I have received are endless, from my family, the good times and bad, He is always there to provide for my wife and I.

Thank you God.

Have a blessed week,
Chris

NFL Quarterback Nick Foles on God, Trials and Doubt

Nick Foles was asked if he had any doubt about getting his starting quarterback job back after his injury.

This was his response,

“No. Right when I felt this thing break, that’s when I went into the locker room and I realized, ‘God, this wasn’t exactly what I was thinking. Obviously, you get here and you want to create a culture and impact people. But at the end of the day, if this is the journey you want me to go on, I’m going to glorify you in every action, good or bad.’ I still could have joy in an injury. People hear that and say that’s crazy, but when you believe in Jesus. You go out there and you play, that changes your heart.”

“Just like when I hoisted the Lombardi Trophy, the reason I’m smiling, my faith was in Christ. In that moment, I realized I didn’t need that trophy to define who I was because it was already in Christ. That’s my message when I played. Same thing happens when I get injured. We tend to make this so much about us as human beings. It’s not about us. If you make it about yourself, you’re probably going to go home at night and lay your head on your pillow and be very alone and very sad.”

“Our purpose isn’t football. It’s impacting people. My ministry happens to be the locker room. I’ve still been able to get to know these guys through an injury.”

“From a spiritual perspective, I’ve been able to grow as a human being. I feel like I’m at a better situation as a person than I was before because of the trial I just went under. I know that’s a sermon in itself but that’s how I go through life. It’s not always about prosperity. I don’t believe in the prosperity gospel. I believe if you read the word of God and you understand it, there’s trials along the way but they equip your heart to be who you are.”

What an amazing message.

Have a Blessed Week,
Chris

A Wounded Person

I was praying for someone who is dear to me, they have a lot of anger and pain in their life and during the prayer I was wondering what more I could do for the person or maybe if I had done something different maybe they wouldn’t have gotten so angry in the situation.

But the Lord laid this on my heart. What I could have done would have just been a temporary solution, a quick fix that wouldn’t help long term.

It’s like this, if you have a wound that has become infected you must treat the wound to heal the infection. Placing a bandage over the wound or taking something for the pain is a temporary solution. The infection must be treated.

But if treatment fails and the part of the body that is infected is damaging and destroying the rest of you then you must remove the part that is infected.

If there is something or someone that is damaging you or destroying you, there must be treatment and God is the best medicine.

However if the problem is unfixable then it must be cut out of your life.

If there is a person in your life who is going through this you can help administer the medicine. Minister to them, show the love of God to them, show to them that God can fix them.

However be careful their wound may be contagious. Have the Armor of God on, let Him be your medicine as well.

God is the great healer, take the medicine He prescribes.

Have a Blessed Week,
Chris

I Wrote a Book!

Hey everyone. I wrote a Children’s Christmas book called “The Twelve Heroes of Christmas”.
It has a Christian message behind it.

If anyone would like to check it out you can view it at the link I am leaving.

Here’s the plot…
“Did you know Santa Claus is not the only Christmas Gift Bringer in the World?

As a matter of fact they’re Twelve Christmas Heroes that give Children gifts each Christmas.

Every year Santa and other Christmas figures from around the world gather at a glorious castle for a meeting to discuss how things are going and how their annual trips went.

Wouldn’t you like to sit in on that secret meeting? One individual got that chance.

Santa arrived early in town. He was feeling tired and desperate for help. You see Christmas spirit was at an all-time low for the Heroes. While standing next his reindeer, he encounters a man who agrees to accompany him on his journey. Who is this mysterious man and who sent him? How can he help our Heroes regain their faith, passion and their own Christmas spirit?

You will meet all sorts of characters from around the world, listen to them tell their stories and learn about their cultures. From the seemingly stern Grandfather Frost of Russian to the Christ-Child from Germany to the Old Christmas Witch of Italy and more! And of course there are those whose spirits might take a little extra to lift, such as an angry Christmas gnome and the mischievous Yule Lad. What will the Heroes decided to do in the end? Can they regain their Christmas spirit or will it be lost in history?”

Defending Yourself

When someone attacks you how should you handle it?

The Bible tells us to turn the other cheek and be slow to anger.

But the Bible makes it clear that people should defend themselves and the Word of God against those who attack.

That is why it is so important to use discernment.

Know the situation and how it differs from another. One situation you may have to ignore the person and hold your tongue, another situation you may have to say a nice thing filled with love and sometimes you may have to stand bold and not back down.

Jesus knew when to show patience, kindness and love.

He also knew when to be firm, bold and even show His anger.

Most times He ate at tables with sinners, showing love, compassion and grace. But another time He flipped a table over when enough was enough.

Know the situation.

So that when someone attacks you with hate you defend with love.

When someone attacks you with darkness you defend with light.

But when enough is enough you stand bold and strong. Flip the tables on them, battle them with scripture and don’t let them hurt you, your family or attack your God any longer. Because He is with you through it all. Let Him guide you in love and compassion, show His grace. But also let Him guide you in firmness, boldness and in your anger.

That is very important, when you speak in anger speak the way Jesus would. Because even in His firmness and anger, the love, His love was always there.

His love will always be there.

So most importantly remember this. When someone attacks with satan you defend with your Lord your God.

He is greater and stronger than all.

Have a Blessed Week,

Chris
