Faith and Healing.

My wife is young,  she’s only 30. (Sorry honey). I mean she’s only 29 for the second time in a row. But even at her young age she is already dealing with arthritis.

The other night the pain in her hand was so severe she couldn’t concentrate on anything. She described it as feeling like a hot knife was piercing through her hand. After awhile and a lot of agony, she told me she didn’t know what to do about it.

I asked her to pray with me. I put my hand on top of hers  and we prayed silently. The pain ceased immediately. It was a miracle. God is good.

Well a few days past, the wife and I were both stressed. I’m finishing up my job at the end of June and we don’t know what’s next for me. This has led to bickering, doubt, depression, anger. Then it hit me. How soon we forget?  God had just healed over my wife, God has helped us through so many problems, yet here we are worried. We need to have faith. The Lord will provide. Once you have that peace in your heart, all that worry goes away.

Here is some Bible verses on Healing and Faith.

Anger

Today I am writing about anger. This is hard to talk about because one of my biggest struggles is my anger. Out of nowhere something occurs, could be major or could be small and I lash out. I shout, I bang the table, throw something, kick something. Then comes the shame. Whether a short outburst or a long one, the shame comes.  My wife and I were watching the new Thor movie and there is a scene right after the Hulk has an angry moment. He calms down and is pouty, looking like  a child ashamed of himself. My wife looked right at me and motioned to the screen, I could tell what she meant. We both laughed as it reminded us of me.

While that moment was funny often times when I’m in the middle of my anger I get angry at God. I’ll question him, wonder why the thing I’m upset about is happening. Or I’ll be wondering why he won’t just take this anger from me?
The harsh truth is because I won’t let him. When I feel angry or let little things get to me that will lead to a sudden explosion later, I don’t take any steps or call out to God to help put a stop to it. I do that sometimes, maybe even often but not enough to truly overcome my anger. God can do it. I even have an example of him doing it.

It happened during a very rough time in my and my wife’s lives. My Dad had died the previous year, now her Dad had just died. We were living with her father to take care of him and now that he passed we didn’t know what to do next. Neither one of us worked full time so we couldn’t afford a place to live. On top of that the stress was making us get at each others throats. After we had a heated argument I decided to yell some more but this time at God. After a tirade I told God if he truly loved me he could take all this anger away.

You know what happened?

In an instant the anger was gone. I have never had my anger go away  so fast.

Less than a month later my wife had a full time job and everything turned out fine. Just like the Lord said it will. We have to let God take control, of our anger, our worry, our lives.

God Bless.

Here is some links I hope help those that may also struggle with their anger.

Helping Others

Helping others. The important job Jesus gave for us Christians. However we often forget about doing so. I know I always feel like I could do more.

Ever felt like it’s hard to get started? It feels that way for me. I remember years ago, I decided to look into volunteering for the county, I saw there was a wait list and many qualifications needed including a strict schedule. I was very discouraged. I moved on and forgot all about it.

Sometime went by and then one day on the drive to work a few years ago, I was feeling extremely guilty about a lot going on in my relationship with God, now the previous night I had prayed for guidance to help those in need. I wanted an opportunity, any opportunity to do something but here I was driving and focusing on my guilt.

I got to the light just before my job and I was staring straight ahead ashamed of myself. The light turns green, I start to drive, I look back in the rear-view mirror and there was a homeless man begging for money or food.

There was the opportunity I had been praying for. I missed it because I was to focused on myself and my past failures.

Satan wants us to feel guilty. The more guilt and shame we have the more we want to hide from God. If you feel that way pray for forgiveness and guidance on what to do now.
We all have some thing we can give  to the furthering of the Kingdom. We can help others in some way. We can donate something, even the smallest amount matters. Remember the woman who gave just a small amount to the temple, Jesus told his disciples she gave more because of her poverty than anyone else.

We can also use a talent or passion to help others. We all have a gift from God or a passion we can use to help further the Kingdom. I have always loved to read and write. I abandoned writing for a number of years, then I decided to start again. I prayed for help to get back into it. After awhile it hit me, what if I combine my passion for the Lord with my passion for writing. If God is going to help me write, I need to use my writing to help God. My goal on here is to encourage people to come to God or help encourage people whose faith is being tested or people who need an uplift. I hope this blog can help someone out there. It’s helped me that’s for sure.

But the work doesn’t stop there. My words aren’t enough. Lets all be a part of helping those in need, God gave us today, let’s get started.

I am leaving links to some scripture that I hope will help.

God Bless,

God is Always There.

He is there through everything. He knew you before you were born.  Remember God told Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1: 5″Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…”

He was there when you came into the world. He is there in every joyous moment. He is there through every struggle. Walk tall, have no fear. Remember the verse in Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” He is always there.

If you feel lost remember the story in the Bible when Mary and Joseph lost Jesus. They were terrified. Rushing back to Jerusalem they had no idea where to look. Finally they found him. He was in the temple courts with the Rabbi’s, asking questions. He asked them, “Didn’t you know, I would be in my Father’s house?”. If you feel lost, get inside the Father’s house.  Jesus will be right there waiting for you.

Never fear, God is always there for you. At your birth, in your life, even in death he is there. Remember, death is nothing to fear, for Jesus conquered death. Through his resurrection we have eternal life. Death is not truly death, just the beginning of the journey home.

God Bless

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Ask for help, there is always hope.

“There is no hope, I’m sorry your husband isn’t going to make it.”

The woman then spent all night with her church praying. Then baffling doctors her husband wakes up.

Have you ever read or heard a story like that? Or maybe even experienced a moment like that?

I’ve read many miraculous stories of God healing the sick. Or a person needing food or money, they pray and somehow someway God comes through. Isn’t it amazing? Do you have faith like that? I wish I could tell you I did. I ask God for help all the time but that doubt does creep in. Especially when things don’t work out exactly how i would want them to or how i think i need them to. But truth faith is not about praising God when things work out. True faith is about believing and trusting in God even when the miracles don’t come. We have to put our faith in God and trust in him. I am guilty of not doing that enough.

Remember the Lord asks us not to worry about things but have faith in him.

Matthew 6:25-27, “25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life”

God will always come through when you need it.

Always ask God for help. Even in the little things? Especially in the little things. God is infinite he has time for your every need and worry. God has got my wife and i through the deaths of our Dads, unemployment, periods where wondered if we would be homeless, sickness, situations where i was scared and didn’t know what to do. He also helps me find my keys. I’m not ashamed of it. I pray if I need it. Also pray for others, ask for guidance from the Lord. Who knows you could be the answer to someone’s prayers.

God Bless

He is going through a lot right now, the physical ailments are very rough on him but he also has a lot of anger in his heart about what happened. Please prayer for my brother’s healing. Also feel free to comment me if you have anyone in your life you want prayed for.
