Found today that my church is one of many that has been made into a Pokestop. It’s pretty humorous that they’re people who criticize Christians for going to Church and believing in God because they can’t really see or touch him. Many are now going to church to get pokemon supplies to catch cartoon pictures of things in reality they can’t see or touch. I understand it’s just a game and not a belief system but it still makes me laugh.
My pastor gave a powerful sermon today. He spoke about how we have become a forgetful generation. We no longer remember or believe miracles can happen. We want to focus on how certain churches are doing things. When in reality there is one Way. The Bible is the Way. Many misinterpret things or change them because they didn’t understand the times and will attempt to match it up with this day and age. When reading the Bible it’s important to understand the Jewish culture back then and the adjustment that was being made to live the new way. Let’s not take the Word of God and read it in American culture terms.
We need to remember God’s Word and put it into action. Let’s stop judging others sins as if they are worse.
Remember in John 8
2Early in the morning He went back into the temple courts. All the people came to Him, and He sat down to teach them. 3And the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before them 4and said, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such a woman. So what do You say?”
6They said this to test Him, in order to have a basis for accusing Him. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with His finger.
7When they continued to question Him, He straightened up and said to them, “Whoever is without sin among you, let him be the first to cast a stone at her.” 8And again He bent down and wrote on the ground.
9When they heard this,a they began to go away one by one, beginning with the older ones, until only Jesus was left
Is your word better than His?
Have a Blessed Week.
We are very hung up on each other’s views on God. We ask each other about our religious views or if we believe in God. But rarely do we ever talk about God’s view of us. Usually people that do that focus on pointing the finger at others, telling them that they are going to burn in hell. They want to scare people into faith. “Be condemned or join us!”
But that is not the message God sends. Everyone knows John 3:16 but what about John 3:17? “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him”
I know that in the very next verse it says those who don’t believe will be condemned but the most consistent message in the bible is not condemnation but love. God created the World out of love, He created us out of love, he forgave us out of love. The Lord’s focus is on love so why are we focused on hate?
When someone tells me they do not believe in God, often I think, “That’s a shame because he believes in you”. He believes in us enough to allow us to have free will, to love on our own, to manage the World on our own.
Some ask “Why hasn’t Jesus returned? When is enough, enough?” Because God doesn’t want to send Jesus back yet, he is still waiting on us to do better. He wants more people to be saved. He wants us Christians to DO BETTER, to show more love, compassion and care.
God’s view of us? He loves us, forgives us, helps us, and remains with us through everything. Are we Christians (Christ-like) If we hate, condemn, turn away from those in need?
Let’s all try to view the World like God does.
Have a Blessed week
I have had a lot of trouble dealing with guilt, many people do. It seems when we become Christians, rather than accepting the fact that our sins have been forgiven we want to remember them, and feel not worthy of God’s gift of salvation. Other times we end up feeling guilty for small things. I often feel guilty for missing Church, or not reading the bible enough or even not posting on here for a while.
We have to remember guilt is an open door to Satan. He wants your past defeats to drag you down. Even a victory can drag you down if you let the enemy inside your head.
You have to remember, you will fall, be humble as you get up. We can’t comprehend God’s love, he said he will cast your sins as far as the east is from the west.Take him at his word. You can’t focus on being the hands and feet of Christ when you are hiding your face with your hands out of shame.
Most important thing is remembering God’s love and that we all fall short. Many people are struggling, if you focus on your guilt rather than salvation you are wasting God’s sacrifice. When you sin, repent, keep going after God. The Lord is not ashamed of you, he loves you. We hear love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Well if we learn to love ourselves like God loves us, we can turn that same love around to others.
Have a blessed week
